Daugiausiai kartų šį apdovanojimą iškovojo Bob Pettit ir Kobe Bryant – po 4 kartus. Na ir visa plejada legendinių žaidėjų savo trofėjų lentynoje turi po tris All-Star rungtynių apdovanojimus. Tai Michael Jordan, Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson, Shaquile O Neal ir Lebron James. 

Iki 2018 m. visų žvaigždžių rungtynės buvo rengiamos pagrindu Rytai ir Vakarai, o nuo 2018 m. įvesta naujovė, kuomet daugiausiai sirgalių balsų gavę rytų ir vakarų atstovai patys išsirenka sau komandos žaidėjus. Toks formatas vyko jau 6 metus ir visus kartus vieną iš komandų rinkosi L. James. 

Nuo 2023-2024 m. sezono vėl grąžintas senasis turnyro formatas. Atskirai renkamos rytų ir vakarų konferencijų komandos.
